Spiritual Guides, Mediums and Dimensional Energies
By Paul Hamden
The first three chapters of the nine chapter book
Chapter One - Past and Present
“Everything and everyone is energy and consciousness, when you transition your vibrational state changes”
Lying in my bed that night staring at the ceiling little did I know this was the beginning of an amazing and sometimes difficult journey, I was 5 years old, as I lay on my back in bed looking at the ceiling, my feet felt like they suddenly touched the ground.
I looked down the bed and saw my legs were still under the cover and my feet were down the end of the bed, I started to swing my feet backwards and forwards scuffing them on the carpet. Not realizing the magnitude of the situation, I rolled over and fell out of bed, standing up, I saw I was still lying down in bed, I remember thinking, was this a dream?
In the darkened room, it was difficult to see, but I walked through an area that I thought was a lounge room. I seemed unable to find the door and found that I was now stuck in a hallway, so I lay down to rest and seemed to drift off to sleep, separated from myself.
In the morning I woke up in the hall way, wondering how I got there. This happened many times over the years even into adulthood.
When I was about twenty years old I started to practice the art of Astral Travelling and would think nothing of spending between 2 to 4 hours trying to move to the edge of consciousness, each successful trip became like an open doorway back to this physical reality. When I returned I sometimes felt I had left doorways open and this allowed energies from the other dimensions to move freely between realms.
I didn’t realize that each journey was opening new doorways and it was only over the years I learnt that moving in and out of realms required certain skills.
Thankfully someone was watching over me, I didn’t know who they were or what they were but I was hoping they at least they wouldn’t let me get into harm’s way. In later years I did meet this being and came to a full understanding of who I was, why I exist, and what my reason for coming here was.
One thing perplexed me, I was able to see flashes of people, children and families, I had no idea whether they existed or not, this caused me a lot of anguish as I felt I was losing my mind, I mean, how can this be right, seeing people who didn’t exist! It became the norm to see many families and single entities and beings.
When I became an older adult and married. My children one day asked me “who is that child we see?” (I realized they had the ability as well,) or “who is that woman we see in the house?” I would explain that this person had passed over and was visiting our family (what else could I say?) My wife who has some psychic ability would say “I can sense something” little knowing there was a person standing behind her.
This became a real issue when we moved into a house that had a spirit lady living there whom I called “Aggie,” she was an older lady around 65 years of age, short and five feet 3 inches in height, she wore a house dress, colored blue with flowers, now, although Aggie was a lovely lady she seemed to be the most insistent “spirit person” I had ever met, even to the point, I would wake up and she would be standing over me trying to gain my attention.
This gave me a real fright. The strange thing is I never interconnected the instances as being of some significance, like, “how did I know her name?” it just popped into my head one day when I saw her.
Aggie would walk around the house appearing and disappearing all of the time and in the end even the older children would say, “I can really sense someone is here!” When I told my psychic friend of this occurrence she simply said, “Did you ever ask her what she wanted?”
That simple question could have changed the way I viewed my situation but I was so busy avoiding any contact with her, I never did.
Over the years, I had tried to find answers to this phenomenon and ended up where we all do “on the internet” searching and learning as I went.
The problem is, as the contact with the “People from the other side” grew so did the uncertainty and the anxiety, I never felt I had any control over the whole process. I ended up talking to a friend, who listened carefully while I told them my story.
As the words came out of my mouth I kept thinking, “this sounds bloody crazy,” and that when I had finished my story, there would be a knock on the door, a burly set of men would then place me in a strait jacket, and I would be promptly carted off to the insane asylum, but the friend said to me;
“I have a problem with my child who is seeing something, like a spirit in the corner of his room, I can’t see it, and I’m desperate, can you help me?”
I must admit, I was very shocked and thought to myself. If this woman can see that I have some sort of ability, how is it I can’t see it myself?
I really thought carefully about what I should do next. How can I use this ability, to help myself and others?
I realized I hadn’t been true to myself, this was a paradigm shift event, and I had spent many years running from an ability that I could have been using to help others and in the process learn and grow in knowledge of self.
I decided to speak to my father and see if he had ever experienced this type of phenomenon in his life, it took a lot of courage to approach him and discuss this, as a son I didn’t want him to think I had lost my marbles.
He was over seventy years old and has been fairly quiet most of his life, so when I blurted out what my experiences were, he sat there, stone faced and said nothing, after a while he leaned forward in his chair and said;
“It’s been with us for hundreds of years, and every adult male has this ability, it is passed from generation to generation.”
Honestly, I nearly exploded! Thinking I had been through this for years with no help or understanding from any one in my family, we discussed the phenomenon and he told me that although he had not had the “sightings” that I’d experienced, he had still developed to a certain extent and seen images of the dead.
The information I gained in the conversation led me to an awareness process, I started learning and reading, I found out that everything I had experienced was “normal” for a developing medium, although as I was to find out, there are different types of mediumship and many ways to perceive spirit.
Chapter Two – Meditation
Types of meditations
"What we focus on we create"
Why meditate at all? Depending on what you are trying to achieve will depend on the energy level required to achieve it.
We are energy beings and what we focus on we create, we are like magnets, we attract what we think about, so the person who you are today, was produced in the past by you!
Understanding this powerful concept, we craft who we want to become.
Imagine always seeing health, happiness and success in your life, as you create that the energy behind those thoughts, this creates a resonant energy around you, over time this energy builds and changes the current energetic field, this then manifests, also the opposite applies, this is not a generic mantra that you blindly say over and over again, sickness does come to individuals for many reasons, but as we progress, we start to understand the link between disease and energy blockages.
I have meditated for many years and it can be a real struggle to calm the mind, I’ve tried chanting, music, and mantras, all with varying success. How can sitting quietly be such a chore? let’s face it your “doing nothing.”
From the day we are born we learn, create and develop, so to then turn around and say to the mind, ok, “it’s time to be quiet now,” requires a certain amount of training and development, so I liken the whole process to learning a new skill.
Many people have said to me “I have tried and it’s just not working.” I tell them “maybe that’s the problem,” trying too hard can be an effort and this produces stress, that then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy in your life. Don’t try, just be!
Another problem is feeling great! You may say to yourself;
“I don’t need to meditate today I feel good, I’m pretty busy anyway so I’ll just skip it!”
Tomorrow comes along and the same thing happens, slowly any residual energy you have created around you is replaced by everyday energies, then next thing you know, your desire to meditate starts to fade away. We wonder why we may be now feeling and sensing internal struggles, emotions, and dealing with more daily turmoil. Suddenly we realize we have stopped the one thing which bought us the ability to clear and heal ourselves… and so we have another attempt at meditation.
So here are a few basic steps to follow.
One: Set up an area that is yours, it may be something you have to pack away after the meditation session, but at least it’s a purpose built area you have made available for self. If you have the luxury of space, then leave it setup.
I have a water fountain as the central focus of my place and have a few nice pictures hanging in the corner.
I even went to the extent of getting a nice cushion made to sit on, so it all was all very personal to me. When I sit there, it means I have a purpose built area and it has a special meaning to me. Sometimes I use incense to set the mood and have beautiful calming background music, these things aide in the relaxation process.
Two: Try to make a time every day, so you can relax, meditating at night is ok, but if you are too tired to focus or end up falling asleep and your goal is to find peace, then falling asleep may not be what you are trying to achieve. It’s no use trying to meditate for an hour, get frustrated and then forget the whole process.
It’s like learning to rock climb in readiness for an expedition, you have to learn what each piece of equipment is for, how to use it, when to use it, how much to carry and the conditions you will be climbing in, and then you attempt the climb. Imagine loading up a person with equipment and sending them to a mountain, with no training, failure is assured.
So what type of meditation sessions are there, some of the basic ones are:
Guided:
This type of meditation is a wonderful way to learn to relax and visualize many different situations and places. Guided meditations are freely downloaded from the internet, with this process; a person talks you gently through the session. Some of the best ones I have found relate to following your breathing and calming the mind. Use a search engine to find and download a few free meditations.
Finger Counting:
For most of us concentrating on breathing can be difficult, so I have tried a process, where by each breathe I take, I tap a finger and when I get to ten breaths I start again. This allows me to focus on something and allows the mind, if it drifts, to re-focus back on my breathing, this technique is good for building your focus by levels. Once you have attained a certain calmness of the mind you can cease the counting.
Tapping:
This is an affirmation exercise that I found to be highly effective and allows for a physical sensation to be used in the manifestation of positive words spoken to self. The process is very simple and works well, as each energy center (Chakra) is tapped it allows the energy stored to be released, and while you are tapping the center you speak an affirmation of self-love. Search the internet and use the keyword “tapping” to find very good resources for this process.
Non Guided:
The Meditator sits or lays quietly in a calm environment (following the breath) and allows the body to relax, as the person relaxes they will see flashes and pictures running through their mind. Observe each one and allow it to fade away, at this point don’t try to fight with your mind, and don’t get upset that the thoughts are coming. Gently focus on your breathing, as you do the mind will slow down and the body will become numb, you will be aware that your consciousness is expanded and that you are happy and relaxed.
Now the big question is, how do I get to this level of relaxation? Well, spend the first few sessions at five minutes and then as you feel most comfortable extend them, try not to have any preconceived ideas as to what you will achieve.
It has taken me many years to develop different stages of meditation; some people find they can achieve this more quickly than others. As an example, if I’m going to do an astral travel session I would have to completely change my vibrational state to allow my astral state (some call consciousness) to separate from self. But if I’m asking my guide for help I just ask “them” to step closer.
What if I don’t have the time can I do a quick meditation?
Yes. I have a special stone, a grounding stone, and carry it with me all the time, it’s a crystal called “Hematite.” Although this is not needed, it’s a quick way to focus in on your intent, it’s the tactile feeling you have of holding an object.
If you are feeling uncertain, anxious, or unhappy, the ultimate cause of your distress may be a disconnection from the physical plain. While there are many ways to reconnect, an immediate way may be to pick up some hematite. Hold the stone in your hand, and rub it slowly. Focus your attention on the smooth feeling of its surface. Hold and rub it until you are feeling calmer.
Because of its grounding qualities, hematite is especially helpful in meditation.
I hold it in my hand and focus on my breathing, and imagine I am rooted to the earth, each breath takes me deeper, you find after only a few seconds you feel much calmer. Another quick meditation process is to visualise a place in your mind that brings you peace.
It may be the ocean, a place in the mountains or just something you made up, as long as you know that when you arrive in this place the silence begins.
Grounding:
One critical aspect of any energy work is to ground. Grounding ourselves, allows us to work from a balanced platform.
An example is a person who is highly strung, emotionally tense or worried about things, all of these states are places where unstable energies exist in your life, I say unstable because, if you remember a day you felt wonderful, alive, happy and grounded that was possibly a day when you were walking in a grounded state.
The following is a grounding visualisation that will help you to settle and ground for the day, our Aura’s are filters, and we receive and send energy through the etheric body.
Everything in existence has an aura, and is made of energy. When we have contact with others, you may notice either a draining or refreshing of the energies you hold. When you are out in nature you may feel a certain peace or feel much more grounded than normal, every object has energy and emits this in a form that can be felt by others.
When our energies are unsettled we can move into another objects energy field (like holding a quartz crystal) and receive calming vibrations that make us feel better.
Sit quietly with your eyes closed, imagine yourself breathing in white light, as you breath out, the energies dissipate down into the ground. You sense an attachment with the earth, it makes you feel like you are rooted into mother earth, as you breathe in and out, you notice your energies are starting to settle and any negativity or unsettled feelings you have are being soaked up by the earth.
Breathe light into the forehead area and then breathe it back out, this is the third eye area, one of psychic activity. There is a lot of mental energy in this area, keep breathing in and out and move down to the next energy centre.
The throat chakra (energy centre) is the place of communication, breathe in white light and breathe out allowing all the energy to slowly settle, move down the heart chakra, and do the same, then the solar plexus, sacral chakra (belly button) and finally the base chakra, which is the survival area.
Allow the white light to flow down through the chakras into the ground, breathing in white light, breathing out and allowing the energies to flow downwards to mother earth, see yourself attached to the earth, as if you are now part of the big picture, part of the earth itself. When finished, visualise all of the chakras closing like the petals of a flower. You may notice that you feel invigorated and very calm.
Colour Grounding:
Another way to ground is to use colours, sit quietly and focus on the base chakra, this is coloured red as we breathe in we breathe in the colour red, this colour is sent to our base area and we see in our minds this area expanding.
We now move to the next chakra the sacral chakra we breathe in the colour orange and allow it to blend and expand this energy centre.
Next is the solar plexus chakra the colour needed here is yellow.
Then the heart centre, which is green
Blue is the next colour for communication (throat area)
Indigo for the third eye area
Then finally violet or gold for the crown chakra. As we finish our colour meditation we envisage the beautiful colours flowing down around us, flowing to the ground, we now feel protected and balanced and are ready for our next step forward.
One word on people who seem to be emotionally draining, these people seem to suck the energy right out of you, they either have a lot of turmoil and drama around them or when they speak to you they stand in your personal space and leave you feeling drained.
They want you to take ownership of all of their problems; it is up to you how you receive these people.
Breathing:
Breathing is natural and part of the autonomic systems, we hardly ever think about it unless we are doing physical exercise and need to start breathing faster. However, on the opposite end of the scale if you following your breathing it can take you to depths that you may never have imagined.
The human breathing process contains within it harmonics, these harmonics allow us to move to many altered states.
The way we breathe in any meditation session, allows us to gain access to the harmonic gateways within the breath. We learn about our gateways by sitting and listening to our breathing, over many days, months and years we learn about the many facets of our breath. Generally the longer and slower the breathing the deeper the altered state becomes.
As we breathe we find after ten or so minutes our mind will start to settle, and our own energies will manifest around us, we can set the intent that our higher self or guide come and aide us in our journey, although we have no expectation, we offer the invitation and wait and breathe.
When we focus on our breathing, we give the mind something to do and it allows us to focus our thoughts and clear our minds, a good meditation session allows us to feel like only a few minutes have gone by, but when we look at the clock maybe twenty minutes to a few hours may have passed.
Time seems to stand still, and when we open our eyes we can feel very calm and balanced. I have noticed that after coming out of a meditation session, that if you come across someone who is agitated or upset, your energy is able to calm “them” down quickly, just by the way you interact with them.
The way modern civilisation addresses stress is to “just move on,” “get over it,” or “deal with it later,” or worse anesthetise your stress into submission,
We hold in our breath, the breath becomes shallow, causing all of the muscles to constrict, thus we are tense.
We head to our next activity, our next responsibility, our next stress, without taking the time to let our bodies and minds recover.
The more stress accumulates; the more at-risk we are for illness and disease. (dis-ease).
You might know the feeling of having chronic stomach aches, back pain, headaches, or numerous other symptoms as a result of “just waiting to deal with it” (the built-up stresses) when it’s more convenient.
Unfortunately, it is rarely “more convenient,” and the symptoms and stresses continue to build. Meditation can help deal with these problems.
The focus should always be on the breathing.
This allows us to see the underlying concepts that animate us, breath! This rhythmically produced process, created by the subconsciousness is a powerful tool to move into deep meditation. As we focus on this and start to relax we sense weightlessness, or numbness in the extremities.
We allow this process to take us to new areas of the inner consciousness, the mind will produce thoughts, we may not initially recognise that we are even entertaining the thought, but once our awareness returns to the meditation process, we gently guide the mind back to the “no thought” process; this is not easy and takes training. I prefer to look into the darkness and just see the patterns as they form.
As each moment passes the thought process starts to wind down, you can assure the mind that anything it wishes to present to you, will be dealt with after the meditation session.
The progression now takes you to the level where you have the no thought process, and may start seeing pulsing purple or yellow colours, whatever you see, just gently follow it, and allow it to form and break down.
This will be repeated many times until you come to a juncture in the process, one of either, vibrational separation (that allows an out of body experience), or expanded consciousness, this is like the inside of your mind is now extended to an infinite distance, where you can see extended areas and thoughts inside your mind. This new dimension is an area where we can ask internal us (spiritual us) questions and receive answers.
Nostril:
This type of meditation revolves around breathing, but by regulating the in and out flow of air through the nostrils allows us to find our centre very quickly.
It seems sitting still is one of the hardest things we have to achieve; the mind wants to be active and will try any type of trickery to make you move or focus thoughts on something else.
Induction:
This process is fairly-simple, over a period of time as you practise this you will find the “hypnotic suggestion” will embed itself in to your mind.
Each time you sit and do this, you will move quickly to a relaxed state. The process is one where you “countdown” from 20 to 1, close your eyes, see the number 20 in front of you, as you breathe slowly count down, going deeper and deeper into the relaxed state.
Continue to count down, breathing in conjunction to the number you are seeing and tell yourself as you get to “1” you will be relaxed, deeply relaxed.
When I started this it took a daily process of doing the induction until I moved to an induction of just counting from 5 to 1, then I was deeply relaxed. This is great for going to sleep at night as well!
Chapter Three - Contacting your Guide
“Considering you are here for the experience why not make it the best it can be!”
My guide has become an important part of my life! Some people say their guide is their higher inner consciousness. Others say the guide is a human being who has passed over and has been trained in guide ship or an energy/spirit being who has never accessed the physical realm at all. Guides come in all forms.
Then, in some cases a human may have an extraterrestrial being who work with them for the purpose of raising the planets vibrational status (as well as our own.) It doesn’t matter who or what your guide is, we all have intuition, we all know what is right and wrong.
I have found that if I listen to the quiet inner voice, it gives me good advice and allows me to make solid decisions. The problem comes when the answer needed is dependent on information that is beyond my level of knowledge, or understanding and wisdom. How do I answer a question I can’t possibly know an answer to?
This is where having contact with your guide is vital in the communication process, your guide may communicate through your thoughts or you may even see your guide. As an example. I’m walking through the treacherous mountains, and come to a fork in a path if I choose the wrong direction, it may mean disaster, and who do I listen to? The inner voice or my guide, how do I know which is which?
Meditation and constant communication with your guide will provide certainty as to whom you are sharing and listening to.
For some people there are special guides for special times, and just because you start out with a guide does not mean that you will have the same guide for the rest of your life, although you can. (it may also be the same guide in a different form!)
There are also helpers, people who have passed over, (loved ones) who work with your guide(s) in helping you to develop. An amazing spiritual guide is called “Silver Birch” and his words of wisdom have helped me through many unsettling times.
The meditation process in the previous chapters work towards calming your mind. Have you ever been in a shopping center, being pulled by your children, people here and there, music blasting? If someone standing next to you tries to communicate with you, it’s difficult. You may or may not hear some of what they are saying to you!
Imagine a spiritual being trying to have a conversation with you, your mind is racing, to expect that you will be in a place where you can hear or sense a voice that may be offering advice, it’s basically impossible.
For a spirit to communicate with someone on this earth plain, there are many problems that they have to navigate. For a loved one who has just passed over or a guide, it’s also difficult, until you have learnt to recognize their signs and signals.
Meditation allows us to see who we are and hear from ourselves, we provide internal information, and knowledge and wisdom from beyond time and space. The quiet inner voice is not heard above the turmoil of the mind, and is only heard where we find the inner silence. We mostly lose this peace from living our daily lives.
I remember an old friend telling me “people need to find the silence and the stillness within.” I though ok, “How hard can it be?”
(I found out very quickly how difficult it can be.)
When we find the silence, what do we expect to find?
Can we possibly understand who we really are?
What if we see ourselves in silence, and then have the awakening that we are truly spiritual beings, living an existence, where we are just playing a part in the physical realm, how would that then effect the daily life you once held to be so important?
So how do I find my external guide?
“The quiet within”
Over the years I tried to find my guide, the attempts were many, each one only served to make me think it was all in my mind, even when I thought I had a visual image of my guide, I allowed it to fade away and forgot about it.
One of the key points to remember is desire, (you must desire to meet your guide and let nothing stand in the way!) If you are to climb a mountain, you prepare, focus, and go for the top and with good conditions you will succeed, move that principle over to contacting your guide, and you will see that it’s a steady, focused, committed path that you must follow.
Of course depending on your current vibrational state (your level of spiritual consciousness, and how stressed you are) will determine how easily you will achieve this.
If your life is full of the physical and you have a troubled mind and worry about everything, this will mean you will have to first calm the mind to allow the journey to being, whereas as if you are an easy going person and relaxed the process may be easier .
So, basically I can hear you thinking.
“What do I have to do!”
I started with the intent to actually have a contact with my guide and from there progressed to meditation sessions where I sought to still my mind.
As I silenced my mind, I found I was able to hear more of my internal thought processes, it was like viewing myself from a third party point of view.
I had also downloaded a guided relaxation meditation from the internet. This allowed me to walk through a guided session where I could find my guide. I managed to see a being of light standing next to me on the beach, it was in my imagination, but further extended my ability to focus on the task at hand.
After a few weeks of this process, I was sitting in my office and felt a cool breeze flowing around me. I looked to the window to see the curtains and they were still, I thought this was a curious thing, but thought no more of it. The next day during the meditation process the same thing happened again, this time I said in my mind “come closer” as to invite anyone that was near, to invite them to my space.
I felt an incredibility cold patch form on the back of my head I spun around to see if the curtains on the window behind me were moving, nothing! This was very strange, after a while the cold patch disappeared and I went back to my session.
The next day it happened again, but this time I decided to ask who was there, I had my eyes closed and could see an image of a person, I heard a name, I thought is this my mind?
Am I imagining this, and got a firm answer, “No,” I then further questioned the image and was getting answers back; finally I had opened a discussion with my guide.
Over a period of a few days I noticed a strong vibrational bond forming between us and anytime I asked my guide to step closer he did, this gave me great comfort as I was able to ask and get answers to many questions.
Now, for me, my journey was to develop into a Medium, (an ability we all have, but only some develop.) So having this as my focus, I had to learn to raise my vibrational state and also ground myself or to attune myself to the vibrational frequency of the spiritual realm. Having a guide is very important; they arrange many critical aspects of contact with the spiritual realm on a daily basis, so having constant communication with them is a vital step in moving through spiritual changes.
Mentoring:
I have been experimenting on helping others to bring through their guides and I have found that by setting the vibrational tone or state, (by having my guide present while I am meditating) it’s possible to help others achieve the necessary state to contact their guides.
This also works when contacting spirit. I have noticed that there are many times when a person, who is in a remote location from me, can also sense the presence of the same spirit. Remember, time and space do not exist in the higher vibrational spheres, and so all of the limitations that exist for people are not in play.
You may be asking yourself “Is this only related to psychics and mediums?” No, is the definitive answer.
I have been talking to people who were total skeptics (skepticism is a good thing to have) and as the conversation progressed (just a general chat, not spiritual) they suddenly felt a very strong energy presence.
(Like someone was standing beside them), I will talk more about this subject in the Mediums chapter.
How do I hear their voice?
This is an amazing process and relates to the mind and energy center’s vibrating at the same frequency. When you are connected or listening to your guide, you can hear or see them because the area in your mind that is connected via the energy center is vibrating at a frequency that allows the mind to see and understand what is being said.
As you may know, the body holds many energy states; these are the way that the spiritual body is connected to the physical, thus allowing things that we create in our mind, to become reality via our spiritual bodies. Our energy bodies are connected out to the universe via our vibrational states.
An analogy of this would be a musical instrument, by itself, it does not make a tune, as an instrument it manipulated by the musician, it creates the music that is then sent out via a frequency for people to hear.
What can I do to find my guide?
I have found some people are terminally lazy! They will give their power over to others; sit for hours while they are fed information, and at the end of it all, they will not have the “time” or “patience” to sit, focus and breathe or create any connection for themselves. Some people have a natural connection to their guides, and for them it’s simply “easy” to connect, but for others (like myself) it was a long arduous task (read journey) to contact the first main guide.
If you have tried and cannot contact your guide, other methods are available, letters, diaries, and visualizations.
I first started keeping a diary as I wanted to remind myself of the times I have had contact with my guide. There will be occasions, once you have established connection, that will seem “empty” like a barren desert in comparison to communication process between you and your guide that you may have had initially.
The daily ritual of talking to your friend, and writing it down, will enable you to look back at what you have learnt in the past and see guidance in many areas that you may not have seen before.
It can be a poem, spiritual inspiration, songs, chapters from a book, words of wisdom, anything that at that time you felt led to write into the diary. It’s an amazing process to look back and see what you have been given.
Visualisation:
I felt at this point that a guided visualization example may be of some assistance.
I want you to relax by sitting comfortably in your chair and if you are feeling cool, place a warm blanket around you, we have two visualizations for you to try, each one ending with you speaking to your guide.
Visualisation one:
You are walking along a path in a mountainous valley and at both sides of you are very old, green, beautiful trees; some are covered in vines that hang down to the path. The feeling you have is of a calm and relaxed nature, the air is fresh and the path is covered by a lovely green moss, this feels very comfortable under your feet.
You decide to take off your shoes and feel the sponginess and the warmth of the moss under your feet. As you walk along the path you can hear birds singing, in the distance you see a bench in an opening between the trees and when you arrive at this place, you notice a small waterfall on your right side, you sit peacefully and quietly.
As you sit, in the distance you see someone coming towards you, they look like they are made of light. As they approach, you get a warm loving sensation and feelings of a long lost friend, they move close and sit next to you.
As you both sit there listening to the birds singing and the sounds of the water fall, you turn to your friend and start to talk to them, asking questions and receiving answers.
At this point in time it’s up to you how you then progress past this point.
Visualization Two:
Take a deep breath and hold it in, as you release it, feel any worries and stress you have, simply float away.
Take another deep breath and as you breathe in, feel peace and calm. As you breathe out release any tension you have.
Notice how your breathing now becomes slower and steadier.
With each breath, breathe in peace and calm.
As you exhale, feel more relaxed.
Now be aware of a bright pure white light, beginning to surround you. It filters down from above your head and gradually swirls around your whole body.
Down, around your head, past your shoulders, your chest, your stomach, and your hips, down your legs and covers your feet.
This light surrounds you.
With this light, feel great love and comfort.
With each breath, this light becomes brighter and stronger.
Breathe in the light that has now surrounded you.
Feel the love, peace, and calm.
Become more aware of your own spirit, the real you.
The one that connects you to everything and everybody.
Both here and in the world of spirit.
As you sit in the calmness, you become aware of all your senses. They heighten.
You look up and see a ball of light, its moving towards you.
As it nears, you sense a familiarity.
You and the light become one.
As you enter the light, you feel a huge sense of healing.
You hear words.... Wait for a while here, relaxing, breathing, and hearing.
When you feel ready, move back to awareness.
Slowly become aware of being back in your home at your seat where you started.
Try to remember any sensations you may have had, did you see colors? Were there any words?
Maybe this style of connection may not suit you, look for other visualizations or guided meditations, to help you settle and ground.
Automatic Writing:
This is an interesting phenomenon where you have paper and pen and while relaxing and focusing on your inner self, you ask questions. Try initially for yes and no answers, as expecting to write whole sentences in the beginning may be a bit much to hope for. Using a Pendulum is also a great way to link into information; they provide answers to yes and no questions.
Here is an example of an automatic writing session:
Question:
What is a guide?
Response:
A guide can be your higher self, but external guides may be people who have passed, existed in another dimension or multiple energies that are not definable, and who are specialists in guidance, so when you really contact your guide your whole life will change.
Question:
I have read books that say that a spirit guide is a soul who has never been born, we each have one, and then we can have other guides that have been born and are passed that are specialists.
Response:
Whether they have been born or not is not an issue, it’s just that they exist, each person has one.
Here is an example:
Electricity is in the power lines stretching through a whole city each person can plug into the electricity like an individual guide...
But it’s still energy, like you and me.
We are one soul, one energy, when the body falls, we just reintegrate back to where we belong.
That is why having your consciousness, as a guide does not really work, as you are limited being.
Your Guide knows where, what, and why, about you.
Question:
What is the pure light I sometimes see?
Response:
Its means you are not ready yet, but getting closer.
Question:
If a guide see’s that something harmful is happening to you...do they try to stop it?
Response:
They perform many functions, offer advice, and answer questions. If you ask to be kept safe, they will do that.
Question:
Can one person’s guide talk to another guide?
Response:
I often get information from other peoples guides to give to them, that’s why validation is so important. With guides, it’s important to make sure it is your guide, they may give you a physical symptom or sign that only you will know, so when they come, you have verification, or will hear a small voice inside, some see their guides, others feel their guides.
Question:
Talking is different to everybody?.
Response:
Sure is, some may never hear their guides.

As the words came out of my mouth I kept thinking, “this sounds bloody crazy,” and that when I had finished my story, there would be a knock on the door, a burly set of men would then place me in a strait jacket, and I would be promptly carted off to the insane asylum, but the friend said to me;
“I have a problem with my child who is seeing something, like a spirit in the corner of his room, I can’t see it, and I’m desperate, can you help me?”
He was over seventy years old and has been fairly quiet most of his life, so when I blurted out what my experiences were, he sat there, stone faced and said nothing, after a while he leaned forward in his chair and said;
“It’s been with us for hundreds of years, and every adult male has this ability, it is passed from generation to generation.”
Another problem is feeling great! You may say to yourself;
- Guided
- Finger Counting
- Tapping
- Non Guided
- Grounding
- Colour Grounding
- Breathing
- Nostril
- Induction
